A difficult shot happened to a Dortmund player while executing a direct free kick against Barcelona in the last second of the match

Barcelona edged out Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a thrilling Champions League encounter on Wednesday. Raphinha opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 53rd minute, but Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy equalized from the penalty spot in the 60th. Ferran Torres restored Barça’s lead in the 75th, only for Guirassy to level again shortly after. In the 85th minute, a mistake by Dortmund’s Pascal Gross allowed Torres to complete his brace, securing the win for Barcelona.

“A very important victory in a very difficult field,” Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena said on X after the match.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s struggles continued with a 2-0 loss to Juventus, leaving them just one point above the elimination zone. Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic scored the opener in the 53rd, and Weston McKennie sealed the win in the 75th.

VfB Stuttgart came from behind to crush Young Boys 5-1. After Lukasz Lakomy’s early goal for Young Boys, Stuttgart equalized through Angelo Stiller. Then, three goals in 13 minutes from Enzo Millot, Chris Führich, and Josha Vagnoman turned the game in Stuttgart’s favor, with Yannik Keitel adding a fifth.

Young Boys’ Lakomy dedicated his goal to teammate Meschack Elia, whose son tragically passed away before the match, prompting Elia to leave the squad.

Dortmund’s Disappointment
Dortmund fans at Signal Iduna Park were left disappointed, despite an entertaining game. The first half ended goalless, though both teams had chances. The deadlock was broken early in the second half as Raphinha finished a Dani Olmo assist in the 53rd minute. Dortmund responded with a penalty, awarded after Guirassy was fouled by Pau Cubarsi, and Guirassy converted in the 60th.

Despite a fantastic save by Gregor Kobel to deny Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez, Barcelona regained the lead in the 75th through Torres after a rebound. Guirassy quickly equalized, but then a costly error from Pascal Gross allowed Barcelona to score the winner through Torres.

“We played a very good game, but in the end, we were too naive and gifted them the goal,” said Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. Dortmund’s concerns also grew after Nico Schlotterbeck suffered an injury in the final play of the game.

Group Standings
Barcelona are now second in their group, three points behind Liverpool, while Dortmund dropped to ninth, outside the qualification spots for the last 16.
