Adric White, 18, decided to walk into a Family Dollar store to commit robbery

Posted on June 19, 2025June 19, 2025 By Erica m No Comments on Adric White, 18, decided to walk into a Family Dollar store to commit robbery

Adric White was just 18 years old when he made the life-altering decision to walk into a Family Dollar store with a gun, intent on committing a robbery. He stormed in, brandished the weapon, and demanded that the cashier hand over the money. Holding the employees at gunpoint, he believed he was fully in control—confident, commanding, and dangerous. But he had no idea that within moments, the situation would turn completely against him.

What Adric didn’t count on was the presence of a customer with a legally concealed firearm and the courage to use it. This Good Samaritan, trained and licensed, didn’t hesitate to act when he saw lives in danger. He confronted Adric and gave him a clear warning: don’t move. But Adric, perhaps too wrapped up in his bravado or unwilling to lose face, ignored the command. Instead of complying, he turned toward the armed citizen—and that decision nearly cost him his life.

The Good Samaritan opened fire, hitting Adric five times. The shots incapacitated the teen, allowing bystanders to disarm and restrain him until authorities arrived. Miraculously, Adric survived. But his attempted crime ended in bloodshed and the abrupt collapse of whatever illusion of control he thought he had.

At the time of the robbery, Adric was already out on bond for a previous criminal charge. His decision to commit another offense while still under legal scrutiny only compounded the severity of his situation. The failed robbery stunned not only the community, but also his family, who were left to grapple with the consequences of his actions.

His family sat in court as the details of the crime were laid out. They struggled with a storm of emotions—confusion, sorrow, and anger. They couldn’t understand how Adric had gone down such a dangerous path or how, despite everything, he had chosen to endanger others yet again. Still, even through the pain and public scrutiny, their love for him remained.

They visited him in jail, wrote to him with words of encouragement, and showed up at every hearing. Though they were deeply disappointed, they didn’t abandon him. They hoped the shock of nearly losing his life and the weight of the legal consequences would push Adric toward serious reflection and personal growth.

They prayed that time behind bars would be the beginning of a new chapter, one where he could learn from his mistakes and seek redemption. They believed that he could change, and they remained committed to supporting him in rebuilding his future—however long that process would take.

Despite the gravity of his actions and the trauma inflicted on others, Adric’s story didn’t end in the store that day. His family held on to the hope that this dark moment would be a turning point, and that one day, he might rise from it—wiser, humbler, and ready to start again.
